Tarte Lip Sheer

This post is long overdue, but I've been using Tarte's natural lip sheer for several months now. It's advertised as a cross between a lip balm and a lip gloss, and it pretty much delivers on that. It doesn't feel quite as moisturizing as some other lip balms that I've used, but it is more moisturizing than a regular lipstick. This lip sheer has an SPF-15 rating, and comes in a variety of shades named after days of the week. (I've got the Thursday, which is a light rose shade.)

I try to stay away from things that are super chemical-laden, so I appreciate that this has no parabens, phalates, or sodium laurel sulfate. I generally don't like wearing lots of makeup, so for me, this lip sheer is a perfect way to get some moisture and a little color at the same time!

I can feel it on my lips, which I love--that's how I know when to re-apply.

I'll just have to settle for the lip balm and dreams.

The balm itself is smooth, not too heavy, and the mint is like a cool breeze on your lips. Wonderful for hot summer nights!

The orb o'balm inside the egg is easy to apply, though it does feel a bit (ummm) obscene at first. Totally worth it, though!

Until now, the only lip balm I have tried that was made from beeswax was Burt's Bees. After testing the tangerine lip balm, I would have to say that Jess' Bee Natural lip balm goes on a lot smoother, and the tangerine scent is too good to be true. Even better, Jess' has only 7 all-natural ingredients in it. Jess' Bee Natural is an amazing company started accidentally by one woman 10 years ago. Everything about her company is all-natural. They hand pour their lip balm and use post-consumer recycled paper for everything. Since trying it, I have kept my tangerine lip balm close to me for repeated use!

I think there is another blog about the Strawberry Milkshake Lip Balm, but I wanted to compare of all of the ones I have tried. This lip balm is a little more waxy, but the lollipop smell is so yummy! Don't try to lick your lips though, because the coating of lip balm you put on is nice and thick to moisturize your lips. It is so great and fun to have a delicious lip balm that doesn't have cartoon characters or glitter all over the packaging. To me, Bag Lunch Lip Balms are the adult version of Lip Smackers.

Ok, so this lip balm isn't scented like the other two were, but I love it anyway. First of all, I love the big tube it comes in. It is full of vitamins and aloe vera to heal those cracked, dry lips in the winter. I could tell a difference in just one application. Not only that, it has an spf of 8. emmett cooper uses natural oils and beeswax for a nourishing, almost wet lip balm that makes my lips happy every time I use it.

I got Thursday in the Sephora Sun Care pack & fell in love.
It is a very subtle color, just enough to make it look like my lips have a natural tint (as opposed to pale & non-existent). Keeps my lips soft & protected from the sun. It's my new summer staple.
There are the days a girl needs a little added oomph in the lip department. That is why I went out & bought Friday! Friday's a lovely berry color, you can put on just enough for a stain, or go whole hog & layer it up for a deep, dark look.
The color stays, the soft stays-- I hope that means the SPF stays. Comes in 11 shades- I want to try Monday & Tuesday & Saturday...

Who isn't always on the lookout for a yummy, moisturizing lip balm? This stuff works and the taste is enough but not overpowering. It's waxy yet just enough to cure a case of the chaps. It's in my work bag and it'll stay there.
