Tarte Lock and Roll Creaseless Cream Shadow and Loose Powder

From RENEE:

This is a fun little combo stick of eye cream shadow and loose powder. I had the forest green and bronze sticks, appropriate for fall. The colors were a lovely blend but the application of the powder and eye cream was a little messy. The roller that dispenses the powder is a little rough on the skin of the eye lid and takes a little coaxing to get out in an even amount of powder and the cream shadow can be a bit gloppy in application. You have to blend and use a few tools to get the right look. I ended up reaching for other liners to blend with the loose powder as it was an easier application process. But for a fun pop of shimmery color, it could be worth the extra time spent.

Could Bobbi Brown be even better?

I think BB may have topped herself with this one!
Check out the super-colorful yet extremely wearable Color Strip Palettes!!! Available March, 2010.
I can't decide which I like best--either the Orchard or the Aquamarine.

Bobbi remains brilliant!!!

Everyday Minerals~Eye-Mystic Night and Cheeks Best Friends

At first glance, I was really excited to try these products. The Everyday Minerals line is a well-known brand and this eye color looked fantastic! Application of this eye shadow changed my mind-I found it incredibly difficult to blend and equally as hard to control-it powdered and flaked off of my lids, leaving dark purple specks all over my cheeks. Not so attractive.

The cheek color, although easier to apply and control, was not much to brag about. The shade "Best Friends" is a deep, natural blush color, but again, not a product I would necessarily recommend or endorse.
Overall, Everyday Minerals left me bored and unimpressed. I was expecting a great, popular brand, in fun, vibrant colors, but was left with a boring mess.

Bobbi Brown, Metalalic Long-Wear Cream Shadow

I tried this shadow in Brown Metal 4 and absolutely LOVED it!!

It is light enough to not look caked on and does not dry throughout the day. Perfect for day or night wear, this shade has just a hint of shimmer and oodles of class!!

For an extra long day (or night out...), I'd recommend wearing a powder shadow over this delicate cream version!!
