Lipstick Love Part II: Urban Decay

In this post, I talked about how I had ordered a lipstick from Urban Decay.
I now have had my UD Apocalypse lipstick for about a month and a half.

It's pretty awesome. I call it the "Killer Popsicle." This refers to the case, not the shade.
The shade is a deep blackberry stain that can be put on as lightly or heavily as desired. It's has good, creamy consistency, above average staying power, and a nice anisette-type smell.

I'm thinking that Urban Decay is more about high-quality than its edgy reputation implies. A good, solid brand.

Lipstick Love

I do not go out without putting on lipstick.
I may not wear foundation, blush, or eye make-up often, I have never owned a concealer, but I always have at least one lipstick at any given time.
True story.

I love to look at the different lipsticks/stains/glosses on-line, but am often disappointed with those little specks of color shown, and have noticed that the pictures & the actual shades can have very little in common.

I asked a very smart cookie, and she steered me to the Urban Decay site. If the lipsticks are half as good as the comprehensive site, I am going to be in love.

I'll let you know for sure when the shipment is delivered!

Urban Decay: 24/7 Sets

Urban Decay makes the BEST eyeliner.
It goes on all smooth & creamy, no ripping your eyelids, & stays in place.
I love and think this is the eyeliner everyone should use.

Now there are special sets!

I love the Flipside (teal) and Crash (plum) best, so I am torn between the HI-FI and Stereophonic sets.

I think the glitter liner is great, but am convinced that sparkles are not so good after you (I) have turned 30, so I give the sparklies to the under-30's I know-- a gift for them, a gift for me... Could this be any better?

Urban Decay~Smoky Eye Kit

Urban Decay, my personal favorite line of cosmetics, has packaged a selection of their products into an adorable, easy to use kit with instructions on how to create a gorgeous, sexy, smoky eye!!
This kit includes Eyeshadow Primer Potion to make your look stay, a Matte Nude Shadow, Matte White Shadow, Medium Tone Shadow, Dark Tone Shadow, Zero 24/7 Eye Pencil in Black, Skyscreapter Multi-Benefit Mascara, and travel brushes for application!! This eyeliner is fantastic and the mascara is my go-to product for every day wear. This would make an excellent gift. If I had four thumbs, I'd have them all up for Urban Decay!!!

Urban Decay Cream Eyeshadow

Urban Decay
Cream Eyeshadow - Rehab

Urban Decay's cute, compact, Cream Eyeshadow is convenient to carry in any clutch or purse. The applicator brush makes it easy to use and virtually mess-free. Rehab is a shimmery, creamy taupe color. The best way to apply it is to try a thin layer, then let it dry before reapplying. The color enhances as it dries. Plus if you apply too much, it may goop up in the creases. Once it dries it feels light, but stays all day.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar

The color is a purple-brown. Glides on smooth and stays creamy for a just a bit then dries and totally stays put. I usually get that line on my eyelid mimicking the liner but NEVER when I wear this. This is a great eye pencil. And it's waterproof. So lovely!

Color: Ransom
I agree! Glides on smoothly without a lot of effort. Ransom is a lovely shade of purple. Dark enough not to be too obvious. Love the fact that it is waterproof!

Urban Decay Brow Box

Urban Decay
Brow Box
Brown Sugar

This is the coolest little thing! It's a pretty dark grey box with a light purple embellished metallic inset on the lid. Inside, you'll find two shades of brow powder, mini applicator brush and mini tweezer. Pop out the drawer below, and you'll find the brow wax. I love the mini brush - it's just the right size for applying brow powder - the size helps control the amount you are using (and if you read my previous post, you know that brow color can easily get out of control). There's a mirror on the underside of the lid, and the tweezers are good for the strays you missed during your usual pluck session.
I also really liked the colors of Brown Sugar. Having darker brows, the dark brown was perfect, with a light dose of the taupe for highlight (so it doesn't look too fake). The color is long wearing, even without the wax. Definitely a keeper, and a fave!

Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow

Urban Decay
Matte Eyeshadow
Secret Service

Once again Urban Decay has sold me on their product. This pigment rich eye shadow is great. It comes in a neat little subway token compact with a snap shut lid. The Secret Service color is a nice dark brown shade. I have actually used it as an eye shadow and eye liner, but I have not tried it wet. This little product has made its way into my every day routine. I can't wait to go out and buy a few more colors.

Catherine's Review:
I'm also a UD convert. I tried the Matte Shadow in Chronic - a fresh, light green color. Beautiful on my brown eyes as a shadow, want to try as a liner. A great shade for Spring (and those, like me, with Spring Fever!). Easily adjustable from sheer to full coverage.

Urban Decay Loose Pigments

Urban Decay
Loose Pigments Eyeshadow
Baked, Smog, and Yeyo

Nicole:
Baked, Smog, and Yeyo are the 3 colors of Loose Pigment that I was able to try. Baked is a shimmery "solid gold" color, Smog is a deep shiny brown, and Yeyo is light shimmery white. The spill proof tube definitely prevents cracking and spilling if you drop it. (Don't you hate when that happens? I do!) The only thing is that I am not sure about the brush attached to the tube. I felt like I got it all over the first time I used it. There was glitter everywhere. The best way to approach it is to either use the brush to get it on your eyelid and then spread with another brush, or try to remove as much as you can from the brush and apply lightly and evenly to your eyelid. As far as the colors go, they are great. Baked is more of a night time "going out" color, Smog can be used as an every day color, and the Yeyo is a nice highlighting color. Overall, once you get the hang of application, these are great little compact colors that can be taken anywhere.

From Eleasha:
the colors are nice and I like the quality of the shadow, but I hate the brush. It is too hard and it makes the application of the shadow very difficult and messy, especially since it is loose eye shadow. There needs to be a spongier type brush, not something with bristles.

Urban Decay-- 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Urban Decay
24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
Yeyo
Let me start out by saying I am not an eye liner fan. It's the poking yourself in the eye with a pencil, then dragging it... I know that people say to warm in up in your hand (nothing) or to soften it with a lighter/match (molten eye liner is NO fun).
This Urban Decay pencil is different. It is soft. It goes on easily. They are not kidding about the Glide-On!!!
I managed a smooth, even line on both upper lids, right up into the lash line.
This magic pencil also has staying power, which is super good, as if I decide that the occasion is fancy enough to warrant eye liner, it best be on for the whole night;)
24/7 is actually easy enough to use that I'd consider wearing eye liner on a semi-regular basis!
The Yeyo shade is a shimmery white. It kind of freaked me out, then I put it on--Hello Brown Eyes! My eyes stood out (in a good way), I looked awake... For me, it's more of a night look, but I am sold!
